Another super niche and old Crye item, along similar lines to the cold weather/armoured multicam Gen 1 suit I featured a while back (in the sense it’s comparatively weird and the exact purpose is unknown). Sent in by a buddy who recently acquired it, so I’m trying to help him out.
The obvious guess is some sort of flying or armoured vehicle crew coverall. Lots and lots of zips and admin pockets here, with elasticated cuffs. Also, as highlighted by my mate who owns it, there are pop studs in the waist and ankles etc, which would *probably* be for an insulating liner.
Unfortunately, since I’ve not had hands-on, I can’t say if it’s an FR material or maybe been dyed. The label suggests a like time period around the very end of gen 1/early gen 2 production.
I first posted this over on IG and my FB page, which prompted tons of responses in the comments saying what this item “definitely” is, yet funnily enough none of these totally assured assertations came accompanied with a shred of evidence. Any time I post something unknown and rare and then I do the sensible thing and type out my educated guesses, it seems to bring out the purest and most self-confident of the dunning-kruger gang.
