Optics for airsoft used to be mostly pure rubbish, especially red dots. Incredibly heavy blue or brown tint, terrible parasitic drain and reflections so bad they were basically not usable outdoors even on a cloudy day. I bought a couple of very early Primary Arms dots back around 2013, which were good and could hold up to replicas with recoil, but they were hard to get here in the UK at the time. The only alternative was to spend about £600+ for a real 552 or M2 just to go on a bb pew, which personally I’ve never considered worthwhile.
About 6 years ago I noticed a lot better reviews of the replica stuff showing up, and I’ve now got a few items from Holy Warrior which have worked great for playing the game.
It’s not the easiest to find their web presence, but if you just Google the brand you can find UK stockists. Also put ‘HWO’ in at WGCShop Hong Kong to find their stuff.
The only chinese clones of anything I ever buy/currently own are optics; still not ideal, but what can I say I’m not perfect. I think I’ve pumped enough money into the western nylon business to be allowed a tiny bit of slack to just make my airsoft builds at least appear gucci. Especially when the hardest brovet businesses in the west will get their stuff made in china, then just straight up not list country of manufacture on their sites.
