Woodland MARPAT was the very first camouflage I bought for myself back in 2006, though that particular uniform set didn’t use the legit fabric. This pattern remains one of my personal favourites, easily top 5 or higher, so while that original BDU set is long gone I was glad to add this combat shirt to the collection. Especially since it was new in its’ bag, in my size, and while not cheap it was not as extortionately expensive as it might have been given the rarity.
This pattern has only been produced in quite limited quantities by Crye in this non-FR fabric and this specific version has never been sold commercially as of publishing this post, nor does it seem that these G3 sets were issued in any great numbers. If you search around you can find a scant few images that show G3 combats in MARPAT being worn by DoD personnel, but there’s also no way of being 100% certain if any of those pictures are showing the NYCO or Drifire FR versions.

Unfortunately there’s nothing of interest that I can say as relating to the cut, fabrics or labels. The primary material looks to be entirely standard NYCO Twill as used in MCCUU, with the other parts like the torso being the same as commercially sold green/woodland colourways of G3 combat shirts. Shaping, cut and labelling is also entirely standard for G3 shirts manufactured during the same time period (the info label has slightly changed layout over the years).

For some reason the G3s in US Woodland are called ‘NATO Woodland’ on their packaging, but the pattern nomenclature here matches that seen in the labels of standard USMC issue FROG items. Otherwise the plastic bag and label are entirely ordinary.
