Around 2018/19 was probably the peak of hype over this camo pattern. I had recently acquired an original BDU shirt from my good mate Kit Badger, but that isn’t something I would consider for regular use, more of an artifact at this point. Roman had gotten some pretty decent rip-stop fabric in however so I ordered a combat set back in 2019.

I would say that the entire set is pretty much fully camo patterned, as the only solid colours are the shirt loop fields and the stretch panels on the trousers, which themselves are of course in matching shades of grey. The camo pattern shirt torso is a synthetic sports shirt type fabric I had custom printed. Pretty superfluous as this will barely be visible even if wearing a chest rig, let alone a plate carrier, but this set is very much ‘for the fun of it’ with heavy prioritisation of aesthetics.
The bicep pockets lack the internal divider of a G3 shirt pocket just to aid in minimising fabric layers. Also the loop fields on the main body of the pockets are omitted to display more of the camo – the pocket flap velcro is more than enough for my patch display desires.

As with most of the apparel I have purchased from Kurmaz Gear, the trousers are also slightly slimmed down compared to G3s. The most obvious instance in this case is the omission of the ankle pockets.

In the upper half of the above image is my real USMC issued MOUT pattern shirt, with the new repro fabric below. Taking in to account the fact that the original shirt is very old and has been heavily laundered, the greys are not too far off, they just missed the mark by using a black for the T shapes in the repro instead of the correct blue.
