The last item I got (unknowingly) influenced into buying, rather than having any actual want or need for.
Bear in mind that all of my own gear imagery I’m posting is currently on a 4.5 year lag, so if you cast your mind back to the dark times of the big sniffle you’ll probably recall TSP camo having a huge hype moment, along with all things poncho liner. Hence: this item.
It’s not made of truly modern materials, and the cut and construction isn’t good for vaguely strenuous usage. On the other hand it’s also full camo so I’d never wear it around town. Apart from maybe a range day at an expo or a warm layer between airsoft games, I have zero usage for this; though I have better jackets for both scenarios. The fact I have never worn it in almost 5 years of ownership lines up with that reality.
The saving graces are that it looks cool and while the materials are no doubt chinese, it was at least sewn in the US (or claims as such). It is quite well assembled actually. However, the company no longer exists, with no social media posts for almost 2 years and their website being taken over. At least it didn’t cost too much and unlike many of the hype drop brands which were selling woobie jackets during the same time period, it’s (hopefully) not just a $7 item bought in bulk from alibaba and flipped in a drop for 10-15x the price. Which is what happened a lot a few years ago.
