Unity Tactical Hot Button

Before the UNITY Tactical Axon switches, there was the Hot Button. Which was confusing for a while because this came out at a similar time to the Modlite Mod Button, and one is mostly just a differently angled version of the other. I think the Axon rebrand was a good shout even if just from a consumer recognition standpoint.

While the Unity TAPS was pretty cool in some ways it was rather chonk, and there wasn’t much else out there beside the SureFire tail switches for Scout lights before the Hot Button came along. So, much like the FAST mounts, Unity made a big splash in the market with this release. It was a lot smaller than basically anything else and was setup at a nice angle that’s particularly ergonomic when using foregrips.

Construction quality on this thing is really nice. Machined metal housing, pic mount hardware, the button, cable, Scout connector, all very nice. My one issue that’s unfortunately a big one is the button functionality. While technically you can lightly press it and it can work in a momentary mode, it really doesn’t take much of a press to click to constant on, which obviously isn’t what you really want 99% of the time with a WML. I don’t actually own any Axon switches to compare but hopefully they’re better now.
