Crye G3 Combat Trousers – Tiger Stripe

Why do all the Crye uniforms in jungle Tiger Stripe have black accessory fabrics such as stretch panels and loop velcro (as opposed to green)? After all, there are plenty of woodland type camos within the G3 uniform line up that feature green accent materials.

In order to organise the private order for the first batch of these uniforms, the blokes behind Tiger Stripe Misfits setup a large group chat on Instagram, which was very active for quite a long time. The guys at TSM posed the question on Black vs Green accents in said group chat, so personally I jumped in immediately and took the impractical stance through siding with black. I can’t remember my exact words, but I said green was practical and therefore uncool and hence black was way cooler and more badass looking overall. I was more sarcastic than serious, but since I viewed (and do still view) these uniforms as a pure luxury good, I stand by that choice.

Whether Crye did actually give the option either way or TSM simply asked the question out of curiosity, I do not know for sure. I also was not the only person to give an opinion in the group chat, so who or what exactly swayed or dictated the final decision (if indeed there was one) I could not say for a fact.

As with all other known non-standard colourations of the G3 uniforms that have been produced, the features and labelling of these combats is entirely in line with the common commercial offerings. I always wish I had a few more specific details I could cover here, but alas there just aren’t any.

Feel free to check out my earlier post about the field pants for more info on the jungle Tiger Cryes and bookmark this site to see the combat and field shirts in the same camo; along with lots of other airsoft gun builds, interesting firearms content, tac gear, uniforms and everything tangentially related.
