Hard Yakka Combat Trousers – Aus Multi Pattern

In-between the classic aussie camo family (DPCU, DPDU..) and the current AMCU, there was this little beauty called AMP in the earlier part of the 10s.

I think it’s safe to say that pretty much every major western nation was having similar thoughts around this time. We fully adopted MTP in the UK, which of course is much like multicam with a slightly altered palette and some shapes inspired by DPM. The ADF started buying this camo which is much like MC, but with jelly bean shapes inspired by the DPCU family. The US of course began issuing MC as OCP for Afghan and did so for a few years, before replacing UCP with the Scorpion W2/new OCP pattern that’s still standard for the US Air Force and Army.

These trousers are also basically the same cut as the current ADF issue combats in AMCU, being G3 combat copies with a few common aussie uniform features like zip cargo pockets, cinch elastic at the ankles and a thinner, breathable twill fabric.

Hard Yakka has a sort of down-low sister company/corporate association link of some type with an organisation called Workwear Group, which is really bloody hard to find online and has a very vague and generic website. But the connection is there in black and white. Shame they seem to be pulling a pata and not proudly publicly acknowledging the fact. That’s not uncommon in this business world though.

I didn’t keep these in the end as I have far too much actual Multicam and a good amount of MTP/variants, these would better fit an Aus specific collector I’d imagine. Nice though.
