Just like on the Colt original. You can buy them right off the VZ site for a pretty good price considering they’re top quality, a custom piece every time and made in America. Given the ruggedness of their G10 I’d bet they’ll also outlast most people who aren’t constantly hitting raid targets and precariously climbing the sides of big ships.

If you’re just a bb wannabe on the weekends like me, you can fit these grips straight on to TM 1911s with absolutely no work or mods at all. Quite possibly other brands too but I can’t confirm. Compared to the stock plastic grips, these are a night and day upgrade in terms of feel.

I’m not sure about the real thing, but if you have a replica and pick the slim stocks from VZ you will have to make some very slight mods and you’ll need grip screws with slimmer heads on them. Best to stick with standard thickness I’d say. Of course make sure to take your time choosing bottom edge cut and fitment for ambi selectors.

This particular set of grips is magwell cut with the ‘super scoop’ on the left side for the best possible mag release access. The real M45 of course had different grips, with a more conservative thumb notch and traditional bottom cut. To me however the one biggest down side of the 1911 is capacity, so any tiny speed increase to dropping an empty mag and putting in a fresh one really makes a ton of sense (hence the extra funnel and grips to match).
