For a few thousand years now, the 2 key things equipped by every man in a main effort of battle have been a long arm, and a helmet. These are as non-negotiable as anything could ever be (regular clothes aside of course).
First, to protect your brain and the thin bone around it, you should have a quality helmet that offers the best ratio of protection to weight that you can get. Then you should look to break up the very distinctive silhouette of your head with camouflage and the first *part* of that is the helmet cover. In this case I have the Spiritus cover on my Flux Carbon.
As far as tactical gear goes, there are some items which bear a bit more investment in research and learning before spending as they vary more significantly in construction and function. Helmet covers aren’t really one of them. If you buy from any good brand that doesn’t immediately feed their profits in to a nation hostile to the west/NATO, you’ll probably be just fine for what you are actually doing. The different products don’t vary that much, though they are often a bit pricey as modern designs that perfectly fit the helmet geometry are comparatively labour intensive to make.
If needs be, prioritise your funds towards the actual armour and just string or tape some burlap or other dull fabric over the top of it.

Unfortunately as of writing this, MTEK seems to have quietly shut down, with no posts on their IG for a couple of years and what looks like only a couple of actual helmets left on their site (the less popular sizes and configs) being slowly liquidated. I’ve no idea what happened to the business. With this of course, the cover in question has also been discontinued.
