If you own a set of Peltors to protect your irreplaceable hearing ability during any activity with lots of sudden loud noises, it really is worth making them comfortable for prolonged wear over many hours.
I’ve tried various additions to my headset and I’ve been very satisfied with the A&A Tac headband wrap. Owned it for years. Some other options out there which aren’t specific to 3M are too short and will slip to one side and/or leave the metal band exposed.
A lot of the 3M sets have essentially nothing between your scalp and the two very thin bits of wire that go over it, even to this day with many models. Having just a bit of padding/spacer mesh there is welcome. Being able to choose from a very wide range of colours and camos to jazz up your kit is always very welcome as well of course.
