Faxon Firearms – Magazine Marker Bands

Faxon Magazine Marker Bands – a purchase driven by the .300BLK modification that was unlockable for the MCX Virtus in CoD MW2019.

These come in four colours, with blue for 556, red for 300, yellow for 762 short and the white option just having a space to write on yourself.

They come in packs of 10 for $9.99, which is great on the surface, but the actual silicone ‘rubber’ isn’t massively thick nor does it fit very tightly around most mags. I have the blue and red versions and I tried them on metal mags, Lancers and PMAGs – real and replica. They’re OK on the Magpul option because of the wider base plate and wider dimension overall, but the lack of tension means they’re easily knocked down off the mag base or up the body on other magazines. They just don’t have much tenacity in terms of staying where you put them.

I was expecting something more like ‘ranger bands’ but these are not that. I’d much rather have paid $20-25 for a 10 pack to get a much beefier product. Ultimately, you’ll far better off buying a roll or 2 of coloured electrical tape and a sharpie if you do use a range of calibers and need to differentiate for any reason. Die Hard 2 had it right end of the day.
