I do love my AXL Eclipse belts. They originally sent me one years ago which I covered extensively on thefull9.net, and I liked that one so much I bought myself another fairly shortly after.
Many of you will be familiar with the notion that a really great piece of kit ‘just disappears’ and you don’t even feel it or notice it’s there. That’s what I’ve found with the Eclipse.
It is a little odd looking admittedly but the lack of cordura covering the lower segment is indeed necessary for the wear comfort of the belt (I’ve checked with AXL about this). The price is not bad for what it is, though I’d say having the matching Syzygy inner belt is a good idea; granted I haven’t tried mine without it but I don’t intend to.
For a second this image I took years ago confused me as I really didn’t think Raptor Tac made buckles. The Raptor buckle is actually a product of American Direct Fabrication – American Direct Fabrications – ADF Raptor Buckle. I don’t think Austrialpin has a factory outside of Austria so that obviously affects Berry compliance and the like.
