Spiritus Systems Small GP – MC Tropic

What can I say… it’s either the size you need or it isn’t. The quality of manufacture is very high. As with many other GPs, it’s handy in that it’s the same height as all standard cummerbunds. It’s deep enough for what you will likely want to carry without being so deep as to hinder you. The Spiritus padded insert makes this option pretty great for a set of dual tubes. Having the extra small partition up front and being zip closure in general means this is a solid option for those small valuable items, plus there’s internal loop for additional organisers which further helps in that regard. Lots of admin/electronics support potential. I’m a big fan of the locking cord that Spiritus use for the zip pulls.

Is it an LBE game changer? No, because that obviously isn’t a thing in terms of GPs. Are military surplus GPs a lot cheaper and do a similar job? Ya (hopefully you’ve all educated yourself on why that’s a thing); this costs right in line with other high end US-made equivalents. It’s a bit of an older product now comparatively speaking and while the attachment system is durable and very good (to include native direct belt mount) I do wish it had half inch PALS slots. I could imagine there might be a new version in the next year or two perhaps – pure guess on my part.

End of the day, a lot of government entities all around the world often want a full suite all from one company, so there’s a fair bit of product within every brand that’s doing the same thing as another thing. I own lots of Spiritus kit, I really like it, this option will serve you very well. When it comes to basic pouches you should just shop within your budget and the decider in the end might literally just come down to combining the shipping costs quite frankly.
