There was just under a year inbetween my fortunate finding of the CCU shirt that I own (luckily also in desert 3 col camo) and these trousers. Both here in the UK for a lot less money than CCUs tend to go for in the US. A fair bit of use on them, but not too bad of condition overall considering the age and rarity of these items in general.

Fly with large, BDU-style 4-hole buttons is very conventional, though the internal drawstring waist wasn’t a common feature on American issued camouflage apparel.
I think a name had been written in to the waistband on my example here, and then an attempt made to cover it up again with more black marker pen.

The 2 large thigh pockets are a similar size to BDU/DCU pants with similar pleats for expansion, but the top edge is now slanted and closure is via velcro rather than buttons – a slightly better setup when seated in vehicles. There is also elastic cord to adjust the tightness of the top opening, which is a nice feature though arguably perhaps OTT and I would like to see the cordloc situated in a less snag-prone location ideally.

In line with what was becoming the fashion at the time, the extra layer of fabric over the knees has a velcro opening for adding some foam padding.

Ankle pockets have been added over BDU/DCUs and look to be about the right size for a dressing.

US standard edging tape cuff ties are present as per BDUs and the like, but elastic has also been added leading to a narrower ankle/taper at the lower leg.

Labelling is pretty much in line with all US conventional issued uniforms. Standard 50/50 NYCO fabric in the 3 col desert pattern. With this particular tag showing that the pants were made in 2003.
If you missed my earlier post covering the matching shirt that makes up this set, be sure to give it a look here:
